is on the yogic practices of the Kalachakra tantra. The Kalachakra spiritual legacy
is a vital and central part of Tibetan Buddhism and this work contains a detailed
and practical overview of this unique tantric path. Translations of seven essential
texts are presented, including a sadhana especially selected by the Dalai Lama
for this book. These texts are Prayer of the Kalachakra Path by the sixth Panchen
Lama, Prerequisites of Recieving Tantric Initiation by the Seventh Dalai Lama,
Kalachakra Guru Yoga Method by Khangsar Dorje Chang, Best of Jewels: a Sadhana
Focusing on Glorious Kalachakra by Buton Rinpoche, Aspiration to Fulfill the Stages
of the Glorious Kalachakra Path by the first Panchen Lama, Notes on the Two Yogic
Stages of Glorious Kalachakra by the first Dalai Lama, Summary of the Kalachakra
tradition by the thirteenth Dalai Lama and Concerning the Kalachakra Initiation
by the present Dalai Lama. Mullin also discusses the tantric path in general by

Review by Rudy Harderwijk:
Overall Rating:
This excellent collection of practices and commentaries on the Kalachakra tantra
is, more than 10 years after publication, still unique. Several of these texts
had already appeared in various other of Glenn's works, but now collected in this
excellent selection. The translation style by Mullin is exceptionally clear and
straightforward. It may be somewhat less special for scholars, but of great value
to practitioners.
